Is my little one actually secure, or do they just balance there?

Secure - the seat locks onto your hip and stays put, thanks to the non-slip surface and buckle. You still keep one arm around them, just like normal. It's there to support you, not replace you.

My baby just turned 6 months, is that too early?

Only if she can't sit up on her own yet. That's the real cutoff, not the calendar. Once she's got steady head and neck control, she's ready.

How long does it actually take to put on?

About as long as it takes to clip one buckle. Fasten it at your waist, tighten, lift her on. No fabric to wrap, nothing to thread over your shoulders.

My toddler is a solid 14 kg, will this hold him?

Easily. It's rated up to 20 kg, so you've got room to grow into it.

What happens if we just don't like it?

You've got 30 days. Message us your order number, send it back, used is completely fine, and the refund goes through once it's with us.

Why position is the whole thing

Hold the weight at the hips and let the legs fall naturally. That’s the position they’d take on your forearm anyway.

Strain comes from holding a child out on one arm - the shoulder pulls forward, the lower back twists to cope. A hip seat puts that weight on your pelvis, which is built to carry it.

Age & stage guide

Is this right for your child?

Built for one stage. Here's where it fits and where it stops.

30-36 months

Close to 20 kg

Carries to the limit, then it's time to stop

The problem

Your arms give out before they do

After six months they're not too heavy to lift. They're too heavy to hold - for a whole supermarket shop, or the walk back from the park.

6-36

months of being too heavy to hold and too small to walk it.

20 kg

the load it carries - so one buy covers the whole stretch.

That's what the sling fixes. Your hips do the job your arms were doing.

See sizes and colours
  • Load sits on your hips

  • Non-slip seat surface

  • Carries to 20 kg

  • Your arm guides, not holds

  • On in seconds, no tying

Before and after

Stiff and awkward vs. soft and easy

Some carriers fight your baby's every wriggle. Ours just holds them.

Padded straps, stiff panels, a fussy baby who wants out Structured carrier

Soft, snug, and settled in seconds. For both of you. Hip seat
Soft, snug, and settled in seconds. For both of you.

The best carrier is the one you both actually enjoy.

How it works

Why it doesn't ache after twenty minutes

On your arm, their weight sits away from your body - your shoulder pulls forward and your back twists to cope. The seat moves that weight onto your hips.

The strap takes the load

It sits across your pelvis, not your shoulder.

The seat holds them up

A firm shelf, legs hanging naturally — how you'd hold them anyway.

Your arm just steadies

It's guiding them, not holding them up. That's the bit you feel.

The result

You stop swapping sides

Your hips are doing the work.

First-time dad, worked it out fine
One buckle at the waist, tighten, lift her on. I was expecting to feel like I was doing it wrong and I did not. It took a couple of goes to find the right height on my waist.

Cleans up better than I expected
I am fussy about anything that lives in the changing bag. Ice cream down the front of it last month and a damp cloth took it straight off, no mark left. And it goes in the machine when it needs a proper clean, which I did not expect. Came out fine.

Felt solid out of the box
I had been sceptical based on the price. The buckle and the stitching are better than I expected. A week of daily errands and nothing has shifted or frayed.

Still looks new after three months
Daily use. The fabric has not pilled, the buckle still clicks properly, and the seat has not gone soft. That was my main worry and it has not come up.

    He settles faster
Carrying him round the room before bed used to take twenty-five minutes and both arms. On the seat it takes about ten, and I can keep going without stopping to shift him.

Steadier than the one I had before
My old hip seat wobbled enough that I kept a hand ready the whole time. This one does not move once the waist strap is set. My son sits on it and I can walk normally instead of bracing for it.

    Useful indoors too
Monsoon week, stuck inside, restless toddler. Carrying him on the seat while I got things done was the only thing that worked. I had not bought it for indoors.

    He settles on it now
He was not sure the first two times and wanted straight back down. I tried it indoors for ten minutes a day instead of forcing it on a trip out, and by the end of the week he was climbing on by himself.

    Holding up after four months
Daily use, mostly errands and the park. The stitching around the seat still looks new and the buckle has not loosened. The fabric has faded very slightly on the side that catches the sun.

    The up-and-down stopped being exhausting
Mine wants down, then up again thirty seconds later, roughly forty times a walk. Lifting her onto the seat is one movement instead of a whole rearrangement. That is the bit that actually changed for us.

    Gave it to my sister
She has a nine-month-old and no spare hands. She was polite about it when she opened it, then messaged me a fortnight later to say she uses it every day. That is a better review than anything I could write.

Easier to hold her while I eat
Mealtimes with two of them used to mean putting her down crying. She sits on the seat facing me and I get through a meal. Small thing, but it is every single day.

Helps at the end of the day
The hour before bed is when he wants carrying and when I have least got it in me. Walking him round the room on the seat is manageable in a way that carrying him is not.

    Evening walks are calmer
We walk after dinner and he used to want up halfway. Now he goes on the seat and we finish the route. I get home without a sore shoulder, which I had stopped expecting.

Feeding is less of a wrestle
She squirms during feeds and I was taking her whole weight the whole time. Sitting her on the seat first means she is settled before we start and I have got a hand free.

    Wipes down after the park
Sand, crumbs, the usual. Damp cloth and it is fine. It does need to dry fully before it goes back in the bag, which catches me out if we are going straight on somewhere.

    Quiet enough for him

    Straightforward for a nervous first-timer

FAQs

Questions parents actually ask

What age range is this really meant for?

6 to 36 months, but the real marker is whether your child can sit up unaided, not their exact age. Weight is the hard limit: 20 kg.

Will carrying her like this wreck my back?

It shouldn't, that's the whole point of the design. The strap sits on your hips, not your shoulders, so your back isn't taking the load. If yours is aching afterward, the strap is probably riding too low.

How do I know if I've put it on right?

It should sit level with your hip bone and feel snug enough that you can't spin it around with one hand. If it's tipping forward, it's too low. If it's digging in, it's too high.

Is it going to slide around while walking?

Not once it's tightened properly. Slippery fabrics like satin can cause some creep on a longer walk. One extra notch on the strap usually sorts it.

How long is too long to have her in it?

Ease into it, ten minutes to start, working up from there. Most parents land somewhere between twenty and forty minutes. If she's squirming or getting flushed, that's your cue to take her out. Never leave her in it unattended, or use it while sitting down.

Will I need to buy a new one as he grows?

Nope, one carrier gets you to 20 kg. Just tighten the strap as he puts on weight. A carrier that feels wobbly usually just needs a firmer strap, not a bigger seat.

What's the fabric actually like?

100% cotton, so it breathes properly and won't have you both overheating on a longer outing. Give the stitching and buckle a quick check before each use.

Can this go in the washing machine?

Yes, it's machine washable. Cool wash, mild detergent, then air dry completely. Skip the bleach and iron. For quick cleanups between washes, a damp cloth works fine.

I already have a carrier, why would I need this too?

Different jobs, different moments. Your structured carrier is still the better choice under six months, or for front and back carries. This one is for the trips where strapping in takes longer than the trip itself.

Will this just end up forgotten in a cupboard?

That's a fair worry, it happens with most carriers. This one tends to stick around because there's nothing to psych yourself out of, it's one buckle. And if it still doesn't earn its place, you've got 30 days to send it back.
